Lovely to see a few of you writing. Only one of you so far prepared to join me on 4th August I see... do tell anyone you are in touch with. It would be good to catch up me thinks.

Well done to DA... sounds like you are doing something we can all be proud of you for.

As for plastic surgery.. I am told the place to have it is in Korea ( South Korea of course !!) pretty cheap and apparently very popular. I have not researched it myself... yet...... maybe I should ha ha ...

<==== I was here a few days ago.. I took a minute out from meetings to take this from the Oracle office.

Hot and humid... and that was the climate I might add.

Best wishes to all... Michael

plastic surgery

Yes, I have taken the plunge and had plastic surgery. Did that get your attention? wondering where? Well, on my right thumb, that's where. Of course you know I have to be different (not to mention doing things the hard way!)

So instead of having plastic inserted, I had a small piece of latex removed. From under my thumbnail. It had lodged there when I scraped a bit of latex from one of our ice moulds off the table. Latex gets sticky and then brittle when it gets old, some of our moulds are 15 years old. I just absent mindedly scraped this brown sticky stuff off the table with my thumbnail and some of it got stuck under there. Two days later I'm in agony. Four days later hubby marched me to the GP, who refused to touch it, referred me to the plastic surgeon. Yesterday it was day surgery under general anaesthetic. Today very groggy and sore all over except for the thumb :) which is wrapped in a bandage the size of a golf ball. As you can see I can just manage to type... between dizzy spells.

Hope you're all staying well... and my new motto is if you see any brown sticky stuff leave it alone! (I think that has many applications, yes?) :)

no longer an office monkey

Hello all,
some of you may know I quit my job recently to pursue my real life's work. What is the new endeavor some of you may ask? Well sorry to say for the left-brained inclined that i have no role for you to label me - i'm doing a mish mash of things to help the world change and become a better place via sustainable means.....????....I've been doing some study over the years and I'll be completing my counselling certification full-time, continuing my Masters, some part-time corporate/life coaching (spread the word if anyone is interested), and doing some volunteer work with youth. I might as well say I will be in Degobah honing my skills with the light-saber and manipulating the force as well.....Overall i'm pleased to say I don't think i'll be touching SQL ever again. I hope all of you are well, and don't forget those dreams.

Drinks at Westin 4th August

Thought I'd say a quick hello. Hello. Been raining here in Seoul these past few days, and now we just had a sunny day although not too hot. The Beijing smog :-) came our way today to I guess the Olympics will be clear of the bad air.

Work fine here. Am off to KL tomorrow. Looking forward to the work but the late afternoon departure means I get to KL around midnight, and I leave 24 hours later at 01:00. Derrgghh.

Consolation is I am flying KE (Korean Air) and they are very good I have to say. Well how else would you get from Seoul to KL.

Anyone got any news? I am back in Sydney for a few days...... Monday 4th August drinks at Westin? anyone interested in arranging a catch up??? Best wishes to all.. MD

still around

OK so my last post was back in January... how time flies! I haven't done much this year except carve ice sculptures and I'm a bit wary of boring you all to tears with constant droning on about it. It just seems that running ones own business takes an amazing amount of time. Being the entire website development team, marketing team, customer database, reporting, analytics team... well you all know it adds up!
CLS I didnt realise you were in Melbourne, hope that's working well for you. It seems that there are quite a lot of jobs going re Cognos down there, I get a few calls from recruitment agents trying to talk me into going to Melbourne to work.
MD I guess the travel is still keeping you out of Sydney.
GB are you still at CBA? Is anyone left?
DA are you still where you were when I last heard (mid last year or so I think). And anyone know where RB is?
Feel free to post folks, you can see if you leave it to me there won't be much here!
:)

new job.....

Hey guys,
Well it had to happen - my days of leisure are almost over - I start my new job on Monday. Scored a role with AXA. It's located in town so it's nice and close! :-)

Sent George my resignation letter last week *sigh* another CBA bites the dust!

Hope everyone is still alive and kicking?! Michael are you still living it up in Seoul?
I was watching a documentary on the history of the A380 (Foxtel rocks BTW!) , and it had some footage of the maiden flights, but I couldn't see you on there - it looked like a real party atmosphere though!
