moving on..... to the snow!!

Hey all,
Hmm not sure who is reading this other then Michael and myself but I will continue to write none the less! I do have a bit of news - I am leaving CBA to spend the snow season over in Colorado USA :-)!! Told work on Friday and got a few suprised looks, which I guess is understandable. It is something that only came to be recently - basically Josie and I were planning 4 weeks in the USA and then an opportunity to spend the entire season came up. We did our sums and well its all systems go! We won't be working there at all - just going to be ski bums and snowboarding every day we can - Having worked for so long without a real break I feel this is a great chance to relax and for Josie and I to do something we have always wanted to do. With the Aussie dollar being so strong, we might as well take advantage of it! Who needs a mortgage anyways ;-) .

As such my last day at CBA is going to be Nov 16, and we leave for the USA on Nov 29. I am aiming at returning around April 30, but really it depends on the snow season, so here's hoping the snow dumps this year.

Michael - I am definately up for a catch up drink (I got all the time in the world now :-)). I am rather excited to hear about the A380 flight - when is that all happening?

nostagia...

isn't what it used to be.. but look at these and what do you remember
Many years ago this incredible guitarist was playing and maybe you saw him.. I did, before he became the icon he became.. at a small club just outside London.. he was a supporting act if I recall.... not sure I remember too much of the time.. but as they say, if you remember you were not there
He died this day September 18th, in London, in 1970.. so thought I would share this with you all http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimi_Hendrix and enjoy the thrill of the times back then .. Nite.. Michael

Hi.. CLS.. you got one out of three.. :-) Am going to be in Singapore ( twice) for a few days in October.. baggage carriers welcome :-)

here is another picture you and others may enjoy.. quite remarkable scenery

tell me when drinks are.. :-) M

a drink sounds ok to me! ;-)

Hey all,
Michael, your last post seem rather intriguing! LOTS of new hey? You got a seat on the A380 flight? You are the new CIO of Satyam? You're coming to work on a project at CBA?
Regardless of the news, count me in for a drink and a catchup - I love a bit of goss! Looks like someone has been rafting somewhere - Snake River perhaps?!
Count me in for a drink anyday of the working week - I am still in town so anywhere in the CBD after work fits in rather nicely for me...

Snake River by Ken Duncan

One of my favourite photographers is Ken Duncan - actually come to think of it he probabably is my favourite photographer! Josie gave me one of his limited edition prints as an engagement gift and our friends also bought us another one for an engagement/wedding present. Anyways after seeing Michael's picture of Snake River, I recalled Ken Duncan as a "Snake River" (from Wyoming, USA) print in his collection for sale - its a stunning pic, although the size of it here doesn't do it justice. Here it is....

All quiet on the blog front...

Hey all - hmm its been a while since I wrote on the blog - mind you I have noticed there is not much action happening! Michael I am with you in wanting to buy a ticket on the new A380! I read someone paid $180,000 for the honour! Anyone else got a spare $180k lying about? Surely a few of your stamps are worth that much Michael? :-)

Can't say I know too much about Edward IV, but I have been by chance been reading about his successor, his son Edward V - one of the "Princes in the tower" - hmm that Richard III doesn't sound like a nice character at all! Mind you if you have read "The Daughter of Time" by Josephine Tey, she has some interesting theories which suggest Richard III had nothing to do with Edward's death - OK I think I am rambling here!

Am also currently reading a book "Elizabeth - the Struggle for the Throne" by David Starkey - an interesting read about the Elizabeth I - Its rather obvious I find English Royal history interesting! Speaking of which, Mr Dodd, I recall you had a book about Lady Jane Grey which I might be rather interested in perusing :-)

With the snow season all but over here, its time to look forward to some snowboarding in the USA this year - Planning on a few weeks in Colorado again around X'mas - have never experienced a "White Christmas" before so looking forward to that! Oh yes, that reminds me I should put my leave in for that. So if you are reading George, my annual leave application is coming your way :-)

Hope everyone is well and enjoying themselves - are there plans for another drinks session? Michael, how are the Frequent Flyer miles coming along? Everytime I read this blog you are in another country!

regards,
CLS
