Getting lonely in the office

Yesterday was a bit strange around the office. Michael was gone, Steven was working the night shift, Don had a day in lieu, Neil was packing up his desk.... It wasn't a great vibe. It was a little taste of the future and things to come.

Oh well, as we all move on eventually we will still have this spot to call home. I hope everybody is getting what they are looking for - either on the market or in the offers from the bank.

Must dash - it's a crazy season of kid birthdays right now.

Cheers, George

Postcard from England

Hello everyone, well I made it.. just.. but I did have an excellent flight in the end.

Between BA cancelling a flight and the start of the school holidays all those empty seats just disappeared.. I managed to get an economy seat to Bangkok.. 74 G.. I did not know the plane went back that far.. ha ha ha ha... but I was lucky as I had an aisle seat with an empty seat next to me.. so plenty of room.. then a Business Class seat out of Bangkok, just a few minutes before the flight left.. lucky guy that I am. very comfortable flight.

Weather in UK is rain, and more rain.. visibility on the motorway driving down to Herefordshire was down to 30 metres at times .... meant I had to slow down :-)

Here now and getting ready for my afternoon nap.

Hope to hear from you and any news. Have a wondeerful weekend.. Oh, and thanks for the wonderful lunch and send off. Hope Anne can get some pictures loaded :-)

Best wishes.. Michael

what a cool idea :)

Gee you got that photo uploaded quickly (BTW did you get the photographer's number ;))! I think the team blog is a great idea. With some people staying at CBA, leaving, travelling, etc, I know I wil certainly be checking this blog regularly to see how everyone is going! On another note, only 1 month to go before I am off to get married.....Michael, I know that you have warned me about weddings before but I am sure I am doing the right thing :). I will post some pics of wedding when I get back.

PS Looking forward to lunch today! Make sure you don't drink too much at lunch though! We don't want to see a story on the National News about a corporate high flyer trashing the 1st class section of Qantas :-)

welcome to your BISS blog

This is just another idea.. you may enjoy, you may participate, you may just forget us all.

I like to write. Once upon a time... ha ha ha ha .. no seriously.. once upon a time people wrote letters to each other, now they send emails... and mostly the emails don't get answered. Sad but often true.. I have been guilty myself. Once in 2001.. :-)

So the idea behind this is that we can share our news with each other as we go our separate ways. Just as I said on Tuesday... :-) no more emails.. just post your news for all to read and share with each other our successes and maybe some disappointments. If you want to write to the blog you can. If you want to read, then just read and if you dont have time to keep in touch that is ok as well. You will miss out on the reunions of course :-)

As I have said, I am extremely proud to have worked with you all, the support you gave me, the commitment and achievement of you all was really quite brilliant. What we did was a success by any standards.

I realise anyone on the web could read this. There are 20 million blogs out there, I am guessing, so the chances of anyone finding this and understanding who we are is remote and anyway why should we care. I dont have any hesitation in anyone reading what we write to us all .. keep it clean of course.. so if you like this idea of how we can keep in touch as we move on in our work, please write your news for us all to share. I will take ownership of arranging a reunion on some special day in a few months time.

Michael
